I want to work on the Foreign Affairs Committee on a bill that will resolve the crises at our southern border. I want to work on the Homeland Security Committee toto pass a bill that will take deadly Fentanyl and Heroine off our streets, and out of our kids hands. I would like to work on the Oversight Committee codifying Roe. vs. Wade, restoring a women's health care rights, so women can choose what happens to their own bodies. I want to work on the Homeland Security Committee and pass a bill that un-schedules Marijuana, removing Cannabis from any schedules, and taxes the plant. The byproduct will be less overdose deaths and the tax proceeds will be used to fund a robust drug treatment program, including homeless shelters, and heroine addiction recovery centers.

It's hard to watch the news now from Israel, and Gaza right now. If I were to become a Representative my goal would be to work persuasively on the Foreign Affairs Committee. I would work to halt the war and demand the release of all the Israeli hostages held captive by Hamas. An immediate cease fire in Gaza. And call for aid to be sent in for the suffering. One mission of mine is to write bills that fund resources and training for diplomats that deliver diplomatic solutions to avoid wars and end current conflicts around the world.

$5 Million Dollars for removing creosote contamination from the ground near the Union Pacific Railyards in Houston’s Fifth Ward and Kashmere Gardens neighborhoods. Fighting back against the damage Southern Pacific caused when they dumped creosote into unlined pits. By removing harmful contaminated creosote from the ground, we will begin to fight back against the cancer-causing agents in the soil.
$5 Million Dollars Fluent Readers by 3rd grade. In partnership with libraries, volunteer teachers will work with groups of pre k to 3rd grade students to improve their reading skills.
$5 Million Dollars Homeless Assistance. In partnership with Star of Hope, and volunteer citizens, homeless people in our neighborhood will get a fresh start.

Knowing this is a Special Election and this is for a one year term, what is most important will be working within the confines of the current political reality in Washington D.C. knowing the Republicans hold a super majority. I will work with Democratic Whip Katherine Clark to put pressure on moderate Republicans to vote with the Democrats and block the harmful bills that Republican lawmakers are trying to push through Congress. My top priority is working on the Energy and Commerce Committee to standup for green energy and Medicaid expansion, expanding, preserving and preventing cuts to this vital investments. I plan to achieve these priorities by working persuasively in a bipartisan fashion.

Instead of going to waste the city should take control of the many vacant and abandoned properties around the city by eminent domain, then sell them off to investors to build new housing or renovate.
Our office will be working out in the field identifying, checking online and with the Harris County Assessor's office records to identify properties for eminent domain.

In the upcoming years Democrats need to stand firm on the principles that founded our country, and the reforms and amendments that we crafted to perfect it. Most importantly consumer protections, voters rights protections, and women's health care protections. I will would like to work on all of those things including on the Energy and Commerce Committee's Health Subcommittee codifying Roe vs. Wade and restoring a women's right to choose.
We know cancer clusters in the Kashmere Gardens and Houston's Fifth Ward are unacceptable. The challenge the district faces is to have leaders who will hold Union Pacific accountable and the EPA to hold up it's end of the deal to remedy a solution. I would lead by example by beginning to work allocating funds to start projects that will mitigate the Creosote plumes which are causing the unacceptable hazards to the public. Then follow up by putting pressure and incentivizing Union Pacific and The EPA to comply and respond to the crisis in
Congressional District 18. I will work on community policing offering EMS, Fire Fighters, and Police opportunities to give back at community engagements to build trust and confidence and a close network of citizens and public servants.
Another challenge is food and health care insecurity. I will work to allocate funds for pop up food banks and health clinics. Partnering with local health care providers and retail shops to donate resources and volunteers to assist with the process.
Homeless and families struggling to keep a roof over their head is a challenge I will address through Section-8 type of local funding, helping people and families struggling the most to find shelter, partnering with The United Way and Ronald McDonald House to protect the most vulnerable in our community.
Cannabis reform at a federal level will prevent residents of our district from facing unjust arrest and prosecution for a plant that has proven medicinal value. I would like to work on the Judiciary Committee un-scheduling Cannabis and regulating the industry for safety. The jobs created will stimulate the economy and the tax revenue will fund mental health advocacy so the Police can fight the very serious problem street drugs, like Heroine and Fentanyl that killed my nephew when he was 22 Ben Filler in 2016 and the countless other testimonials.
